We Have A Sole Passion: Supporting and Transforming Lives Through the Power of Music

About the Simi Valley Orchestral and Choral Foundation

Our History

The Simi Valley Orchestral and Choral Foundation (SVOCF) has a proud legacy rooted in the Simi Valley Arts Alliance (SVAA), an organization originally established to support the general arts. Over time, as the community’s needs evolved, so did our focus. Today, we specialize in supporting the orchestral and choral programs that bring music to life in Simi Valley. By narrowing our mission, we’ve been able to deepen our impact, providing dedicated support to the orchestral and choral groups in Simi Valley and an Instrument Donation Program with accountability.

This shift reflects our belief in the transformative power of music to connect people, inspire creativity, and build a stronger, more vibrant community.

Our Team

Our foundation is led by a passionate and experienced team of music educators, arts advocates, and community leaders. Under the guidance of Bonnie Graeve (President), Jenny Fuller (Secretary), and Heather Jennings (Treasurer), along with a dedicated Board of Directors, the SVOCF continues to grow and thrive. Together, we share a common goal: to ensure that music remains an essential part of Simi Valley’s cultural identity for generations to come.

Our Vision

Looking ahead, we envision the SVOCF as a cornerstone of Simi Valley’s cultural landscape, financially supporting musical excellence and accessibility. Our goals include:

  • Expanding funding for the Simi Valley Orchestras and Choirs to provide more opportunities for musicians of all ages and skill levels.
  • Growing the Instrument Donation Program to ensure every aspiring musician has access to the tools they need.
  • Developing new partnerships with local businesses and organizations to broaden our reach and impact.

We are committed to creating a future where music not only flourishes but becomes an even greater force for connection and inspiration in our community.

Why Music Matters

Music has the unique ability to uplift, unite, and transform lives. It enriches the performers who dedicate themselves to their craft and inspires the audiences who come to listen. At the SVOCF, we believe that supporting music means supporting the heart and soul of our community. Whether it’s through a breathtaking orchestral performance, a joyful choir concert, or the moment a young musician holds their first instrument, the work we do is all about creating these moments of connection and joy.

Get Involved

The success of the SVOCF is made possible by the generosity of people like you. Whether you’re donating, sponsoring, volunteering, or attending one of our events, there’s a place for everyone to be part of this musical journey. Together, we can keep the music alive and growing in Simi Valley.

The SVOCF Bylaws

We believe in complete transparency for all of our programs and each member of the SVOCF, from the Officers, Board Members  to volunteers have accountability for their representation of the SVOCF. Our Bylaws are the the rules and standards by which we govern the organization. You can read them in full in the attached document:
