The Executive board of Directors

The Executive Board of the Simi Valley Orchestral and Choral Foundation brings together a wealth of experience, dedication, and passion for the arts. With backgrounds spanning music education, administration, and community service, Bonnie Graeve (President), Jenny Fuller (Secretary), and Heather Jennings (Treasurer) work collaboratively to guide the foundation’s mission.Together, they ensure that every initiative aligns with our mission to support and sustain orchestral and choral programs in Simi Valley, enriching lives and bringing people together through the power of music.

Bonnie Graeve - President

Bonnie Graeve has dedicated her life to music education, teaching in South Dakota, Colorado, and California. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental and Vocal Music and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. Over her career, Bonnie has taught and conducted K-12 ensembles, community college groups, church choirs, and private lessons. Her choirs have performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Orchestra Hall, and Disney Hall.
Now retired, Bonnie enjoys volunteering for various organizations and teaching in her home studio. She and her husband, Joe, a retired high school teacher, share a passion for hiking, traveling, gardening, attending concerts, and being active in their church.
Bonnie’s lifelong commitment to music extends to serving her community through programs that bring the gift of music to care centers. She believes music nourishes the mind and soul, evoking joy, treasured memories, and a sense of inclusion for all. As President of the SVOCF, Bonnie’s leadership and passion inspire the foundation’s mission to enrich lives through music.

Jenny Fuller - Secretary

A Simi Valley resident since 1986, Jenny Fuller has dedicated much of her life to education and music. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and her teaching credential from Cal State University Northridge. For over 20 years, she taught 5th grade at Hollow Hills Elementary, where she also led the choral music program. Under her leadership, her choruses performed at numerous prestigious events, including the Reagan Library, the New West Symphony, and various community celebrations.

Since retiring, Jenny has rekindled her love for playing the violin, joining the Simi Valley Community Orchestra in its inaugural year as well as the Simi Valley Chamber Orchestra. She also volunteers for several nonprofits, enjoying hiking, traveling, pickleball, and time with her children and grandchildren. Music has been a defining part of Jenny’s life, and through her role with the SVOCF, she hopes to continue sharing the joy of music with the community.

Heather Jennings - Treasurer

Heather oversees the financial health of the SVOCF, ensuring that every dollar raised is used effectively to support our orchestral and choral programs.

Royce

Royce Cadwell
With over 60 years of experience in piano, keyboard, and vocal music, Royce Cadwell brings a lifelong passion for music to the SVOCF Board. Alongside her musical expertise, Royce has over 20 years of experience as a legal assistant and has served as secretary to her community HOA. Her combined skills in music, organization, and administration make her a valuable asset to the board, contributing to the foundation’s mission of enriching lives through the power of music.

Shawna Streb
Shawna’s life is in the performing arts, from growing up in dance studios to studying instrumental music, dance and voice at the California Institute of the Arts. She has performed extensively in recitals, competitions, and musicals as a lead dancer, vocalist, and actress, and has toured in Los Angeles and New York. Shawna’s passion for the arts extended to teaching, choreographing, and serving as Assistant Creative Director at Cobblestone Arts Center, where she discovered a love for working with at-risk teens through dance, music, and theater.
Now based in Simi Valley with her husband of 25 years and their 4 children, Shawna continues to teach, perform, and create. Inspired by the depth of talent in the community, she is passionate about using music to help local artists realize their dreams while inspiring others along the way.

Vicki Johnson
I am a long time resident of Simi Valley.  I started volunteering in the community in 1995, serving on several PTA/PTSA boards at different schools and in different capacities.  I have also served on the board of the Simi Valley Arts Alliance, SVAA, since 2017.  Our mission was to promote the arts in Simi Valley.  My goal is to bring my talents and experiences to this board and continue to promote the arts in this community.

While we are not actively seeking new board members at this time, we welcome individuals with expertise in fundraising, grant writing, or corporate sponsorship to reach out. If you are passionate about supporting the arts and believe you can make a meaningful contribution, please submit a cover letter detailing your skills and interest in joining the board. All applications will be thoughtfully reviewed and considered by our Board of Directors. We look forward to hearing from you!
